Cost Engineer / Cost Modeller / Cost Estimator

£30,000-£50,000 DOE

Working both directly and through delivery partnerships, our consultants support and/or manage the delivery of some of the most high-profile Programmes in flight as well getting involved from the initial bid.

Due to our continued success across our UK Defence Portfolio, we are now growing our RT Society of Permanent Associates.

With that in mind, we are looking for Cost Engineer / Cost Modellers / Cost Estimator with 2-5 years’ experience to join our RT Society of Permanent Consultants.

The Cost Engineer / Cost Modeller / Cost Estimator are typically responsible for:

  • Preparing and supervising the timely preparation of cost estimates.
  • Preparing and analysing comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data against the requirements
  • Providing comments and recommendations for cost management requirements relative to staffing and project control
  • Coordinating and establishing the scoping requirements for overall cost estimates by discipline or other specialties, and coordinating the timely, systematic, and complete definition of acquisition scope and related data
  • The supervision of cost recording, monitoring, and reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards accuracy and consistency
  • Preparing and presenting cost management information to management
  • Generating and analysing in order to make recommendations on portfolio reports

Key experiences we are looking for include:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of Project Controls and In-contract Management
  • Knowledge and understanding of Single Source Pricing Regulations
  • An understanding of Cost Engineering techniques and principles

The successful Cost Engineer / Cost Modeller / Cost Estimator will ideally:

  • Be a member of ICEAA
  • Have delivered monthly reporting to senior project or programme managers
  • Have a thorough understanding of Financial and Accounting Practices
  • Have experience generating and running CRA

Due to the nature of this project, the Cost Consultant will need to be Security Cleared to SC level or be willing and eligible to go through the Clearance process.

Project Manager

Permanent, Bristol

Project Managers play a vital role for RT Consulting, supporting and managing the delivery of our Client’s key projects and programmes. Often embedded in a client teams driving outputs and ensuring we can deliver what we have promised to our customers not only within scope, but time and budget too.

Due to continued success and growth we are recruiting several Security Cleared Project Managers to work with a key client of ours in Bristol.

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Analysing, developing and supporting the timely and cost effective delivery of client projects meeting business needs
  • The appropriate planning, monitoring, controlling and reporting of project performance
  • Supporting identification of risk and mitigating actions
  • Champion the application of appropriate project delivery strategies ensuring successful business outcome.

Key experiences we are looking for include:

  • Knowledge of P3M and previous experience implementing P3M practices
  • Strong Stakeholder Engagement- the ability to work with teams of all levels
  • Ability to work autonomously and a proven track record of Project Delivery
  • Defence industry knowledge (desirable)
  • Mentoring or Coaching (desirable)

The successful Project Manager will ideally be:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner level or APMP - Certified Project Management Associate
  • A member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM)

Due to the nature of this project, the Project Manager will need to be Security Cleared to SC level or be willing and eligible to go through the Clearance process.

Project Planner

Permanent, Bristol

£30,000-£50,000 DOE

Project Planners work in partnership with other areas of the project team to ensure the timely completion and delivery of Projects, often acting as the controller of a project’s timeline.

Due to our continued success across our UK Defence Portfolio, we are now growing our RT Society of Permanent Associates.

With that in mind, we are looking for Project Planners with 2-5 years’ experience to join our RT Society of Permanent Consultants.

The Project Planners play an integral part in the Project Controls Team, and are responsible for:

  • Scheduling activities for large, complex projects
  • The development, maintenance and monitoring of project schedules
  • Identifying, analysing and providing innovative planning solutions

Key skills and experiences we are looking for include:

  • Primavera P6
  • Technical or Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement
  • Defence industry knowledge (desirable)
  • Mentoring or Coaching (desirable)

Risk Manager

Risk Managers work in partnership with other areas of the project team to ensure the timely completion and delivery of Projects. Often acting as the first line of defence for project related risk, the Risk Manager is responsible for liaising with all areas of the project team, identifying, scoring and monitoring potential risks to the Project.

Key skills and experiences we are looking for include:

  • Excellent Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Proficient knowledge of using Visio and PowerPoint for presentations
  • Extensive experience of using ARM

Key tasks Risk Managers are responsible for:

  • Strategic Risk management
  • Project Risk analysis
  • Creation and management of RAID logs
  • Establishing a line of sight from strategic risks to project risks
